Any fashionista worth her salt will tell you than gingham is the print of the season right now. The trend, sparked in part by the incredible popularity of Kitri’s sellout checked Lenora dress, has seen a wave of picnic-blanket chic crash across Instagram and beyond – and now you can get the look for even less.
Sainsbury’s own Tu Clothing has created a gorgeous gingham midi dress that will enable you to squeeze every last drop out of the remaining summer months, and while the supermarket might not be your first port of call for a fashion update, it really has got the details down.
The chunky blue checks – a linen/cotton blend, in case you were wondering – are complemented by the relaxed fit, tiered skirt, oversized buttons and flattering sleeves, which also prevent the dress from presenting any ‘school uniform’ vibes. The midaxi length hits just above the ankle, making it ideal for wearing with anything from trainers to sandals.
It’s even got a celebrity fan, in the form of Good Morning Britain‘s weather presenter Laura Tobin, who wore the piece on screen earlier this month.
Customers who’ve already added it to their wardrobes say its quickly become a staple, with one writing: ‘I didn’t want to like this as much as I do – I have too many dresses. But it’s soft, comfy and really pretty.’
‘This dress is gorgeous, super flattering and looks much more expensive than it was,’ another agreed. ‘Love it!’
However, while the original RRP of £22 was impressive, those happy shoppers may now be wishing that they’d waited to make their purchase, because the dress is now in the TU Clothing sale, which launched today, for an incredible £16.50.
Some sizes are already sold out, but if you move quickly you can get anything from a 10-20 on the Tu Clothing website. Failing that, it’s a case of racing everyone else to your local Sainsbury’s, stat – we’ll see you in the queue with the rest of our sale bargains!
