Last month, we spotted a £19.99 H&M dress that looked just like a Ganni one and now Next has jumped on the check trend with a £40 gingham dress that could also easily pass as a dupe for the designer’s iconic seersucker check print maxi dress.
At £215, Ganni’s dress isn’t compatible with everyone’s budget so we were over the moon to spot the £40 iteration at Next from one of its new brands, Love & Roses.
While the Ganni seersucker check print dress comes in two different colourways – a green, black and white check and a blue, red and yellow grid pattern – the Love & Roses at Next Ganni dress dupe comes just in a blue and white check design.
Besides the small difference in the red and yellow lines running through the check design, it’s not hard to draw similarities between the two sleeveless, calf-length dresses with smocked bodices. Both the Ganni and Love & Roses at Next gingham check dress also sport a square neckline with a small frill and feature gathered shoulder straps. The only major difference? The price tag.
While the Gingham Dobby Midi Dress doesn’t yet have any reviews on the Next website, it was shared on the Love & Roses Instagram and fans were quick to comment. @thefashion_lift described it as ‘So pretty’ and @midsizemel added ‘Wow this dress is so perfect ??’.
If you’re smitten with the blue gingham design, you might also be interested in the shirred strap cami-version of the dress. At just £28, the cami has the same square neckline and gathered shoulder straps as the midi dress but can be worn with jeans and dressed up or dressed down.
That said, you could even buy both the Next Ganni dress dupe and the matching cami for a fraction of the price of the Ganni seersucker dress…
