The UK’s most beautiful road trips have been revealed

Whether you’re looking forward to an exciting city break or a more relaxed trip to the seaside, there’s one part of travelling we haven’t missed so much – the drive to get there.

But it doesn’t have to be too painful, after all. Research conducted by MFG (Motor Fuel Group) has revealed the most awe-inspiring UK road trip routes to keep us entertained on journeys.

Researchers polled the nation and found the view of Loch Lomond to Glencoe topped the list of most beautiful road trips, just beating the scenic route from Kendal to Keswick in the Lake District.

The historic Cheddar Gorge came in third place, while the Causeway Coastal route in Northern Ireland – known for its dramatic scenery as featured in Games of Thrones – also made the final list.

But who do you take with you on a long drive? Well, when it comes to the preferred road trip companion, 55 per cent of those asked said their other half would be the ideal person. Just under a third of people said they’d like to go with their children and 27 per cent chose their best friend.

So this summer, why not pack your bags, jump into the car and head out on one of these Instagram-worthy road trips around the UK…
