We all know that Kate Middleton possesses a lust-worthy wardrobe, but one area the duchess particularly excels in is her outerwear choices. Kate knows her way around a good coat and has shown this off plenty of times in the past. One particular favourite style of the royal’s is her forest green Catherine Walker wool coat.

Complete with velvet trim on the cuffs, collar and pockets and military style gold buttons, the knee-length, double-breasted style is so flattering and the perfect winter choice for a future queen. In fact, Kate loves the coat so much so that she’s worn and re-worn it multiple times previously.
The duchess was first spotted in the coat on St Patrick’s Day in 2017, when she teamed it with a matching Philip Treacy hat, Monica Vinader earrings and a three-leaf clover brooch. Then, she stepped out in it again on a trip to Paris, before wearing it a third time in 2018 when visiting Westminster Abbey – this time Kate accessorised with a coordinating padded velvet Prada headband, tights and black heels.

It’s clearly one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite looks for winter, which only makes us want to replicate it for ourselves more. Luckily, Monsoon has a strikingly similar coat on its rails that is retailing for £165, a fraction of Kate’s designer price tag.

In a similar dark forest green hue, the Monsoon coat is made from a wool blend and features gold buttons and velvet trim on the cuffs and collar, just as Kate’s coat does. With velvet shoulder detailing and a stand-up collar, this coat embraces a military vibe.

Additionally, for a coat that echoes Kate’s original style but in a different colour, this burgundy number, also from Monsoon, has a lot of the same details as the Catherine Walker coat, from the cut to the velvet trim and collar style.
