It seems Kate Middleton has been loving shopping on the high street lately – from Accesorize earrings to that chic pink M&S suit, the Duchess of Cambridge has been getting thrifty with her fashion choices. One recent outfit of Kate’s that particularly caught everyone’s eye was a forest green ensemble that she wore to visit a SportsAid event back in February.
The outfit consisted of a pair of dark green Zara culottes, which she paired with a matching scooped neck fine knit top from Mango and a pair of Marks and Spencer trainers that perfectly picked out the deep green hue from her outfit.
Naturally, every element of Kate’s stylish outfit almost instantly sold out (the shoes, however, are currently back in stock in most sizes), including her lovely culottes. But we have good news, as high street retailer Zara have just brought the style back into stock in four new gorgeous colourways.
Those fond of natural colour schemes will rejoice as the trousers are now available in black, beige and ecru. Or if you’re more into your wardrobe brights, you’ll want to nab the style in the gloriously sunshine-yellow hue – perfect for bringing a bit of joy and colour into your day.
Kate proved that the culotte is a perfectly versatile style of trouser, as she got stuck into running a few laps in them with no trouble at all when she wore them for her outing to the London Stadium in Stratford alongside sporting stars Jessica Ennis-Hill, Rebecca Adlington and Lutalo Muhammad. Practical and smart? We’re sold.
While the Zara culottes make the perfect workwear staple, their loose wide-leg shape make them a perfectly comfortable item for wearing at the weekend or around the house. They’ll look just as good with trainers (à la Kate) as they will with strappy sandals, this season’s must-have shoe.
