If you didn’t buy that infamous Zara dress that took over the summer, then you definitely know a person who did – if not a few of them.
The white polka dot midi was quite literally the talk of every town across the country for the past few months, with a reputation so great it even had an entire Instagram page (with more than 25k followers) dedicated to it. But what if we told you that there was a new and improved version?
Yes, the Spanish retailer has launched a black version of the popular summer frock and we have to say, it’s even better than the original.
The new black version counteracts all of the challenges that come with wearing top-to-toe white – choosing the right underwear, the potential for spillages – and transitions the style into a chic new autumn-appropriate buy.
The new colourway has been on the style set’s radar since August, when fans spotted it on the Zara website in Australia, but now it’s been made available in the UK for the same price as the first, hugely successful version.
Not into spots? Well, this isnt’s not the only Zara dress that sent us all dotty (sorry) this year. The brand’s floaty Asymmetric Poplin Dress, priced at just £29.99 – £10 less than its polka dot predecessor – features a number of statement details, including pleats, a tiered skirt, oversized sleeves and a pretty bow fastening on the back.
And in the same excellent spirit of reinvention, the white summer style has also been remade in black for the season ahead, as well as a flattering shade of camel that’s perfect for layering with a tonal trench and boots.
Long live the oversized dress trend – here’s hoping that it continues for A/W 19 and beyond.
