Everyone on Instagram is wearing this £40 Zara dress

Instagram is one of the best places to find truly diverse fashion inspiration – but even if you follow thousands of different accounts, every now and then a particular item starts popping up everywhere. And that’s when we start to sit up and pay attention.

The latest piece to be added to our virtual lust list is Zara’s new season white polka dot printed dress, which has been spotted on countless style accounts in recent days, and no doubt inspired plenty of purchases in the process.

It’s no surprise that the flowing, round neck dress has proved to be exceptionally popular. Not only does it come in one of the most on-trend prints for spring – playful polka dots – it boasts a relaxed fit and flattering sleeve length, plus extra details like a ruffled hem and cute buttoned opening in the back.

You know when you’re 19 and someone ‘old’ (45) says something ridiculous about music (like when my mum was trying to describe Daft Punk to me and called them ‘Funky Plastic’) and you’re like never will I ever become someone THAT boring and ancient where I won’t be able to keep abreast of important music matters, the tracks pushing through the roots before it hits the ears of naff Oceanas 6 months down the line, remixes, DJs. Well fast forward to now and I legit have no clue what The Global Awards are but apparently everyone and their next door neighbour’s there so, fantastic. I hope Funky Plastic are playing a blinding set. And FYI I still hit up Spotify every darn day for new beats so I’m not a lost cause yet (yet). It’s also the definition of versatile – whether you top it off with a jumper and trainers, dress it up with statement jewellery and kitten heels or go professional with a blazer for the office, we can’t think of many scenarios where it wouldn’t work.

You could even consider it for a summer wedding, as long as the bride wouldn’t mind you opting for white – and the monochrome palette means there’s no fear of a colour clash with your existing wardrobe favourites either.

Normally when a piece has this many plus points, you’d expect the inevitable disappointment of finding that it’s out of stock already – but at the time of writing, it looks like the brand has foreseen the frenzy and made sure they ordered plenty, as it’s still in stock in sizes XS to XL. Hurrah!
