To get access to some of the world’s best holiday experiences, you might think that you need to jet off to a far-flung location. But according to TripAdvisors’ Travellers’ Choice awards, there’s at least one option that’s much closer to home, because the he annual event has crowned The 25 Boutique B&B in Torquay, Devon ‘the best B&B’ on the entire globe for the second year running.
The accolade for the five-star hotel, located on the picturesque English Riviera, marks the first time that any B&B has won the award consecutively.
With six boutique bedrooms, each featuring quirky decor, stand-alone bathtubs and technological perks like voice-activated TVs, The 25 offers a sophisticated take on the classic B&B experience. ‘Premium features like powerful showers, Nespresso coffee makers, iPads, fluffy bathrobes & free movies on demand,’ the website declares.
The B&B’s co-owner Andy Price said of the impressive title: ‘It’s an incredible feeling to be named the best B&B in the world for the second year running. If anything, the second time feels even more special because we know last year’s award raised customer expectations and so we’ve had to work even harder to deliver a great experience for every single one of our guests.
‘We didn’t rest on our laurels, we’ve tried to look at every little thing we can do to improve, and it feels like that effort has really paid off with this news today.’
TripAdvisor spokesperson James Kay added: ‘This has been an incredibly tough year for the UK’s hospitality industry, but with doors opening again to hotels and restaurants across the country, now is the right time to celebrate those businesses that have delivered consistently outstanding service and quality over the last year.
‘With so many winning properties coming from the UK this year, it is testament to the high standards of hospitality we enjoy domestically, and that should give Brits the confidence to venture out and support the industry’s vital recovery.’
If you want to pay a visit, you should note that The 25 is for over-18’s only, and rooms start from £169 per night. Oh, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for adorable resident schnauzer Patsy – we can’t think of a better welcome!
