Trinny Woodall swears by this £7 Aldi moisturiser

YOU columnist Trinny Woodall is a woman who knows her stuff when it comes to fashion and beauty – and so of course when she recently revealed her favourite moisturiser, we were all years.

The fashion guru and TV presenter, who also has her own beauty line, Trinny London, named her go-to moisturiser in an interview with Prima, and much to our surprise, it is an affordable supermarket buy.

Speaking to the publication, the 55-year-old Instagram favourite admitted that she swears by a specific cream by none other than Aldi – yes, really!

‘Aldi’s Lacura Caviar Illumination Day Cream SPF 15 is only £6.99, but beautifully creamy,’ she revealed. ‘You don’t always need to spend a lot on moisturiser!’

She’s not wrong there. Aldi does have a strong reputation of providing good quality products for less – just take a look at its array of beauty dupes, from their budget take on Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara, to their own version of Yves St Laurent’s iconic concealer and illuminator, Touche Eclat.

In this case, however, the German retailer’s Lacura line is often referred to as a dupe of luxury skincare brand La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Cream, which comes with a hefty price tag of £384.

‘With caviar extract this Lacura Caviar Illumination Day Cream with SPF15 adds a touch of luxury to your skincare routine,’ Aldi says of the formula. ‘The anti-ageing formula ensures radiant and luminous skin.’

This is similar to the benefits promised by the original luxury product, which is why, along with the lookalike packaging, customers have made the significant link between the two. But as Trinny’s comments prove, the cheaper alternative doesn’t necessarily lack the quality of the expensive version. In fact, according to the reviews, it’s just as good – and will make much less of a dent in your bank account!
