The countdown to Christmas is officially on and whilst it’s ‘the most wonderful time of the year’, the abundance of festive cheer can enhance feelings of loneliness and isolation over the holiday.
In an attempt to combat this Tesco have collaborated with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to create a selection of novelty knitwear.
Designed to literally bring you together with both friends and loved ones, there are two playful ‘two-sie’ designs to choose from. Roomy enough to fit two, each two-headed jumper is festively adorned with either an intarsia-knitted Mr and Mrs Claus or a vibrant Fairisle pattern.
Available in stores at Tesco for just £18 each, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the charity, the social style provides an alternative and merry option for parties throughout the holiday season while ensuring that loved ones feel included and part of the festive fun. Perhaps you could save yours for Christmas Jumper Day? (14th December in case you’re yet to add it the date to your diary).
Not only are the ‘two-sies’ a great way to get family members involved in festivities these playful styles encourage people to get together, something which Simon Ginning, CEO of CALM, is passionate about sharing with us. ‘Christmas is a fun, joyous time of year we know it can be tough too,’ he said. ‘That’s why we’re encouraging people to look out for their mates, families and loved ones.’ Whether that’s by ‘checking in with a text, or teaming up for a laugh in a two-headed jumper,’ the charities focus is upon the gift of friendship and fun this season.
Last Christmas almost nine million people in the United Kingdom were expected to suffer from loneliness, with this number expected to increase this year, there’s never been a better time to reach out to your loved ones to let them know that you’re there – two-sie jumper optional.
