Customers are convinced these supermarket clothing collections look just like ZARA

Online shopping has been a saviour during lockdown. While we’ve been told to stay at home and non-essential retail has closed its doors, many of us have found solace and safety in shopping for clothes from our screens.

Even though we’re not going anywhere at the moment, there’s something about having new clothes to parade around the house wearing that can give you a much-needed boost and remind you that, yes, you can wear something other than leggings.

But thanks to yet another TikTok trend, it turns out we can still update our wardrobe while we’re at the supermarket for essential shopping.

Both Sainsbury’s and Tesco have become a talking point on TikTok because of their own-brand clothing collections. Dubbed ‘the new Zara’ and ‘the new Monki’ by users showcasing hauls from the stores, we can see why customers have mistaken the pieces for clothes you’d pick up on the high street.

TikTok user Sofia Q shared a video inside of Sainsbury’s to showcase her favourite picks, writing, ‘Tesco is the new Zara but Sainsbury’s is the new Monki’.

Another fan of the supermarket dupes, Olivia Holley, said she recommended a pair of faux leather leggings from Tesco that were ‘the perfect length … the quality is exactly the same but the Tesco ones are £5.99 cheaper.’
