This is how to prevent those red nose marks when wearing sunglasses

While there are so many things to love about summer – hello long, warm days, day trips to the seaside and BBQ for dinner every night – but every season brings with it its own set of pesky problems. And for summer, being chased by wasps and dropping the odd Mr Whippy on the floor aside, one of those downsides comes in the form of those annoying red marks that sunglasses create on the sides of your nose.

For any full-time glasses wearers, you’ll be only too familiar with this year-round problem, when wearing glasses rubs away at your make up and leaves two small red indents on either side of your nose, but come summer we can all fall victim to this problem.

Alas, like with so many of our beauty hacks these days, TikTok has come to the rescue of this very particular problem. And it doesn’t require anything fancy or weird – in fact you probably have all the necessary tools in your make-up bag already.

TikTok user @elliemakeupartist has revealed the exact way to prevent your glasses from creating red nose marks and it couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is dab a bit of eyeshadow primer where the glasses touch your nose and voila – no more dreaded glasses marks.

In her short tutorial, Ellie’s eyeshadow primer of choice is MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eye Shadow in the shade soft ochre. It comes in a variety of shades to suit all skin tones, but any good quality eye shadow primer should do the trick.
