Nothing screams summer like a long, leisurely day at the beach. Whether you’re on a tropical island or making the most of the summer heatwave at your favourite British seaside. However, one majorly inconvenient side effect of sun, sea and sand is of course, the sand.
Going to the beach always means you end up taking half of it home with you. There’s sand in your shoes, sand in your hair, your clothes and anywhere else it can sneak into – sometimes even the bottom of your bag is full of it. It’s an absolute nightmare.
And just when you think you’ve gotten rid of all the leftover sand, you always stumble across a tiny bit more in your bed or on your sofa – and anyone who has experienced this will know that it is enough to tip you over the edge, so much so that you won’t be rushing back to the beach anytime soon. But, what if we told you there was a hassle-free way to enjoy the beach without bringing buckets of sand with you as you leave?
One genius mum has shared a clever hack that means you won’t have to live with the horror of sand in your belongings at the beach. Opening up in a Mumsnet thread, the mum revealed that she uses talcum powder to make sand easy to swipe away.
Making her point in a round up stating nine best tips for beach holidays, the mum explained: ‘Chuck a load on your feet to help brush off the sand that’s stuck to them. Works like a charm.’
She added: ‘Tried talc on sand today… got a few weird looks but lo and behold, it did in fact work!’
We don’t know about you, but we’ll definitely be testing this out on our beach holiday this summer…
