We love a high street meets designer collaboration, not least when it’s two of our absolute faves joining forces to create an affordable collection injected with the designer’s aesthetic. Absolutely fitting this bill is the Rejina Pyo & Other Stories collaboration that launched today.
Rejina Pyo is the South Korean-born London-based designer who burst onto the London fashion scene in 2014 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Known for her expert colour play and elegant yet sculptural silhouettes, the designer’s & Other Stories collaboration is full of her signature style that’s been adapted for the mass market.
‘I am really excited to be collaborating with @andotherstories – it is a lovely opportunity to connect with their audience and to share my designs with their market,’ Rejina wrote in an Instagram post. ‘Crucially they were also committed to working with a combination of premium and responsibly sourced materials for our co-lab, which is very important to me and my business. This collection is a celebration of what Rejina Pyo is all about, dressing real women in pieces that add something special to their everyday lives.’
Expect puff-sleeve dresses and relaxed linen suiting, interspersed with retro-style separates, all in a bright and sunny colour palette. With prices ranging from £55-£175, it’s the perfect way for any Rejina Pyo fans to get a slice of her signature aesthetic for less, and the pieces are suited perfectly for a spring season of picnics and al fresco dining and then a summer of fun as our worlds reopen after lockdown.
‘I am inspired by women who follow their passion and make it their path. That energy and free spirit resonate with me and summarises the shared storyline that unites me with the three women I choose for this campaign,’ said Rejina Pyo. Indeed, those three women are Lotta Klemming, Sweden’s only female wild oyster picker, Brittany Asch, an LA-based florist-cum-artist, and Poppy Okotcha, a forager growing an edible and medicinal garden in Devon.
Rejina told British Vogue: ‘Our dresses have never been feminine in a girly, cute way, it’s like the sleeves are almost too big and they might scare some people off – I like that attitude. I’m into power dressing in general, but it’s amazing how the power of clothing can transform your mood.’
