Primark has been making plenty of headlines for its beauty offerings lately, with customers showering the store with praise for both its skincare and make-up products. The latest one to win serious acclaim from shoppers? The high street giant’s £5 foundation.
I swear by Mac foundation but this one from Primark is a dream! And it was £5! Doesn't even feel like you have makeup on and provides amazing coverage pic.twitter.com/IEqGQh3arR

The budget beauty buy is being applauded by many who have called it a more affordable version of Estee Lauder’s Double Wear, which is priced at £33.50 a bottle – almost seven times the price of Primark’s Double Coverage Matte Foundation.
The dupe even has similar packaging and according to a group of women in popular Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains, and beauty bloggers on social media, it works just as well as the original, if not better.
‘For those ladies that wear Estee Lauder double wear foundation for £32. This is the same coverage for only £5 from Primark!! I’m converted,’ one woman wrote in a post on the group page.
recently purchased this foundation from @primark and i can’t believe how good it is and it’s only £5!! 🙀 i’m thinking of doing a full blogpost review on some of their beauty products including this… is that something you’d want to read? 💄💭 #primark #beautyblogger pic.twitter.com/MTwxsMo7q7

It wasn’t long before she received almost 800 likes and hundreds of comments from women across the country who felt the same about the budget foundation, expressing what a good deal it is. ‘It’s incredible,’ another woman added. ‘I had a double wear sample and this, I tried both and preferred Primark, but neither are good for dry skin.’
Yet another fan agreed: ‘I’m converted too I love it. It does go shiny after a while but it’s still fab.’
The news of the popular dupe comes just days after Primark revealed that a product from its skincare range with beauty director Alex Steinherr sells every three minutes. The collaboration means shoppers can get their hands on everything from moisturisers and masks to cleansers and eye creams, all for under a tenner.
Similarly, the retailer’s £1 shampoo and conditioner is being hailed as the best on the market.
Sounds like we should be doing all of our beauty hauls in Primark from now on!
