The transitional period between summer and autumn is a perfect time to inject some blouses into your wardrobe. A cute blouse can be worn with all sorts of ensembles whether it’s dressed up or down, and its lightweight fabric makes it perfect for this in-betweeny time of year when t-shirts and vests are beginning to become a little too breezy.
This year, the humble blouse has had a vintage upgrade, and is complete with an oversized collar that even Peter Pan would be envious of. The big collar energy started on the catwalk, as high street trends so often do. We recently saw designers such as Miu Miu, Simone Rocha, and Shrimps debuting their versions of chic oversized collared blouses, from crisp classic white shirts to cute patterned options.

Whether you’d like to stick to block colours and classic silhouettes, or you want something a little more ‘out there,’ chances are you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for, and usually at an affordable price point.

🌿 NEW BLOG POST 🌿 I’ve only really been shopping around for plus size vintage for a year now and it’s honestly been a real struggle. There’s a lot of nuance in vintage clothing that makes it feel inaccessible to larger sizes, which is a real shame when shopping for clothes in all other sectors is already difficult enough. I have to acknowledge my privilege in being a size UK 16-18, I can still find high-street options, pretty much without any issue but there seems to be a larger vintage gap. I’m sharing a few of my tips on the blog (link in bio, or swipe up on stories!) featuring a few of my favourite people to follow for advice on this like @sarabrowndesign, @ohhhhhhhhhoney, @marielle.elizabeth and @jazminvegaz. I’ve also shared a little list of plus size vintage sellers like @shopberriez (US-based), @plusbabevintage (UK/EU), @peonyvintage and @_f.i.n.d.s_ (UK/NI). Do drop some knowledge in the comments about where you find your plus size vintage garms and the best accounts to follow! I’m sure there’s so much untapped resource out there! *I’m wearing a vintage blouse from @etsyuk – the seller is LydiaCCrimp!
Instagram fashion stars have also been quick to embrace the style, and you’ll struggle to scroll through your feed without spotting at least one.
These blouses suit all sorts of occasions, so you really do get the most out of your money. Whether you want to dress it down with denim and sandals, or wear yours with a pastel suit, the styling options are seemingly endless. With that said, here are some of our favourite options to buy online now.
