No7 just released the ‘next generation of face masks’

From serum-infused sheets inspired by the principles of K-beauty to jars of thick, spreadable formulas infused with pink clay or charcoal, we’ve never been so face mask savvy as a nation – but now No7 Laboratories Skin Pastes have arrived in stores to change the game once again.

In fact, they’re so confident in the launch, an option of two tubes under the names ‘Rescue’ and ‘Resurfacing’, that they’ve dubbed them ‘the next generation of face masks.’

The Rescue formula is powered by CICA-Therapy Complex: Centella Asiatica (known as ‘tiger grass’); a restorative herb and Bisabolol, a plant extract to boost moisture levels and keep skin protected. It promises an overnight improvement on problem skin, with prolonged results including brightening and reduced redness if you use for the recommended 2-3 nights a week.

Resurfacing, meanwhile, is a more intense AHA/PHA Peel Complex with a 10.5% blend containing Glycolic, Glucano-delta-lactone & Fruit Acids – which, as the name suggests, offers expert exfoliation, without any harshness on your skin. If you’re looking for a smoother surface, visibly reduced pores and improved tone and texture, this is the product to pick (just be sure to use an appropriate SPF alongside it).

Despite their very recent release, online reviewers are already raving about the masks, with one Rescue user writing on the Boots website: ‘I don’t normally write reviews but this is an amazing product and actually does what it claims, I highly recommend it. My skin was really stressed out, dry, spotty, itchy and generally looking terrible after a week away – in one night this product really calmed it down and after a second night it is looking and feeling so much better! All the dry itchy skin has gone and I feel like I have my face back.’

There’s similar praise for the Resurfacing: ‘I WOULD DEFINITELY recommend this as I have only used this product twice and have already noticed great results,’ posted one converted reviewer. ‘I bought this to help fade away old acne scars & smooth out my skin and I have noticed that my skin is looking a lot brighter and healthier even after 1 use.’
