When the warm weather finally arrives, we have lingering visions of floaty white linens and pristine nude dresses that show off our newly bronzed skin.
However, in reality, our fashion fallback has always, and will always be much more practical dark colours – so this year we’ve decided we’re reclaiming black as a summer colour. And shoppers at high street hero M&S have had the same idea.
Their cap sleeve midi dress has been flying off the shelves, so much so that the ‘fast selling item!’ label has already appeared next to the frock’s online listing.
The popularity of the item has been boosted by blogger Hayley Rubery, who writes under the name Frock Me I’m Famous, and recently shared a snap of herself modelling the outfit during a trip to Venice, Italy.
‘Absolute obsessed with this dress from @marksandspencer (can you blame me!?) – it’s super light weight so it’s perfect for summer and the silhouette is beautiful (hello, hi princess dress ?),’ she wrote alongside her post.
‘Absolutely love the quality of this dress; I find as I’m getting older I’m 100% quality over quantity, and investing my money in better pieces.’
Her 29k followers have raved about the look, with one writing: ‘so pretty! Perfect summer LBD!’ and another exclaiming: ‘That dress is so chic! You look fab! ?’
The dress, which is from the brand’s Autograph collection, will set you back £65, and is currently available online in sizes 6-20 – whilst stocks last.
Whether you’re heading to a smart summer wedding or party, or want to rock the casual barefoot look on holiday like Hayley, we think you’ll want to snap this one up fast…
