These ‘cool girl’ jeans have seen a 2,000 per cent increase in searches

If you’re on TikTok you might have seen the recent war that Gen Z-ers have waged on Millennials and their attachment to skinny jeans. With tight-fitting denim declared out and loose-fitting styles in, you might not be surprised to hear that LikeToKnow.it has reported a 2,000 per cent increase in searches for mom jeans on its app.

 

LikeToKnow.it allows shoppers to search and browse shoppable fashion, beauty and home content from their favourite influencers and, analysing the data from its app, found that there were three main styles of jeans that were on the rise for SS21. Oh and you guessed it, skinny jeans didn’t make the cut!

That’s right, after 12 months of elasticated waistlines, it seems we’re collectively done with loungewear and are all pretty excited about wearing something a touch more tailored again. So, what style of jeans are we all searching for? Well…

Mom jeans: 2,000 per cent increase MOM

Thanks to its flattering tapered fit, mom jeans have become a staple in our wardrobe and so too it seems for many others with LikeToKnow.it reporting a huge 2,000 per cent increase in searches for the style.

Wide-leg jeans: 1,100 per cent increase MOM

These £29.99 ZARA wide-leg jeans went viral back in November and have been dubbed the classic ‘cool girl’ style. Presenter Alex Jones even sported them for The One Show!

Straight-leg jeans: 1,000 per cent increase MOM

Straight-leg jeans go with everything and, if you opt for a high waist, can be a super lengthening style too.

Whichever style you’re most comfortable in and opt for, we’re really just excited to see looser-fitting denim styles of jeans make a comeback.
