When we think of false press-on nails, they tend to teleport us back to our early teenage years, but it looks like the retro trend is back thanks to none other than Spice Girl Mel B.
The star, who is currently on the Spice Girls 2019 comeback tour with bandmates Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Halliwell, wore a glittery pair of Superdrug Fantasy False Nails during a recent performance and they looked incredible. In fact, you’d be forgiven for thinking they were acrylics.

Me and sporty in our quick change room under the stage before last nights show was about to start!! Me thinking to myself a show in the rain ummm scared, but I herd Bristol’s scream then I thought noooo “let’s ave it” and we danced together ALL night in the rain and me and you Bristol we didn’t care about the rain!!!till I got off stage and I was an ice block but it was all worth it fir you guys #yourthebest #scaryhouse #100
The nostalgic trend seemed quite fitting considering the fact that it marked Mel B’s (or Scary Spice as she’ll forever be known to us) return onto the stage with the group as they perform their biggest hits at stadiums across the country.
Praising the holographic rose nails after performing in Dublin on Tuesday night, Mel wrote in a post on Instagram stories: ‘Self applied @superdrug rose gold stick on nails for last nights show, I love them and they stayed on all night even though I was thrashing around the stage for over 2 hours in the rain. Well done to me and Superdrug.’
And to top it all off, the magic press-ons will only set you back £5. if that isn’t a complete steal, we don’t know what is. In fact, it’s a tiny fraction of the amount you’d spend getting a manicure so we’re totally sold. Especially since they’re good enough for Mel B.
Once you purchase, the set includes 24 false nails and a tube of all-important nail glue, which means you’ll have everything you need to spice up your life (well, your hands, at least).
On Thursday night, Mel B and the girls, who have sold over 700,000 tickets on their reunion tour, will play London’s Wembley Stadium. Commenting on their experience so far, they said: ‘The last couple of weeks have been magical. To be back together and celebrating with all our fans is an absolute joy. The sheer force of passion, love and energy we’ve been feeling from the audiences each night is simply awesome and will give us memories to treasure for life.’
