What a week for H&M. Not only did the lovely Holly Willoughby appear on our screens on Tuesday’s This Morning wearing a pair of its £17.99 checked trousers on Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex just stepped out to an official engagement wearing a dress from its maternity range.
Meghan was pictured wearing the £24.99 MAMA fine-knit dress, which is still available online and in certain H&M stores, during a visit to Mayhew animal welfare charity in London, proving that beige is the shade to be seen in this season by wearing it from top to toe.
Teaming her high-street dress with an Armani coat and a Stella McCartney bag, Meghan, who is currently around six months pregnant with her first child, looked every inch the chic mum-to-be as she took a tour of the facilities.
The Mayhew cares for around 30 dogs and around 150 cats at any one time, and works to improve the lives of animals and people to better communities both in London and internationally. Meghan met some of the four-legged residents on her tour, making for not only a fashion-forward moment, but also an incredibly cute one.
In 2018 @TheMayhew:
🐈 Handled 1061 animal welfare cases
🏥 Neutered 12,109 cats and dogs overseas
🐕 Rehomed 98 dogs and 380 cats
💉 Vaccinated 32,431 dogs against rabies
📝 Educated 111,097 adults and children in India

If you want to make like the Duchess and go for neutrals for the season ahead, the dress is still available online, in sizes S-XL, and although it’s maternity, you don’t necessarily have to be pregnant to pull it off.
Either size down or wear it in a cool oversized style – as Meghan proves, it’s a great all-rounder that can be layered or dressed up as appropriate.
It’s not the first time during her pregnancy that Meghan has chosen to wear an affordable label – when she visited New Zealand with husband Prince Harry, she selected ASOS’ midi wiggle dress, which was priced at just £38, for her outfit at the airport. A girl after our own hearts!
