There’s a new Mary Berry TV series on the way

Mary Berry has become a British icon in her own right. From her scrumptious recipes to her on-screen presence, it’s no wonder the nation is obsessed with her.

If you love Mary as much as the rest of us, you’re in for a treat, as the cookery expert and author has just landed a brand new cooking show with the BBC.

The series, titled Mary Berry’s Quick Cookingis centred around dishes you can whip up in a hurry, and will follow the former Great British Bake Off star as she travels around the world to the exciting places that have both mastered the art of speedy cooking and inspired her own quick recipes with their carefully crafted skills.

‘This adventure takes her abroad to cities she’s never visited before, along with places closer to home that we don’t normally have access to. Entwined in these travels is Mary cooking some of her most delicious quick recipes that take no time at all – some in a kitchen and some perched on rooftops, in food trucks or tiny cafe kitchens,’ the BBC said.

Throughout the series, Mary will be frying up a storm in the fiery kitchens of London’s famous China Town one minute, and experiencing the flavours and spices of Marrakech’s medinas the next – all while witnessing the buzzing speed of the cooking process, and sampling the tasty cuisine, of course.

Talking about the upcoming programme, Mary commented: ‘Being in a rush will never be a problem again. If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen I can show you a world of delicious, quick dishes to tempt any taste buds.’

If that wasn’t enough to look forward to, the BBC have also revealed that the show will feature an epic scene with Mary joining Rick Astley on stage at a music festival, and stepping in as one of his drummers. We guess there really are no limits to her talents!

Mary Berry’s Quick Cooking will follow Berry’s previous four BBC programmes: Mary Berry’s Absolute Favourites, Mary Berry’s Foolproof Cooking, Mary Berry Everyday and Classic Mary Berry. While there has been no set release date for the six-part series, we do know that it is currently in production and is due to our TV hit screens sometime in 2019.
