Marks & Spencer’s Christmas food is available for pre-order already

It’s now less than 100 days until Christmas, and if you ask us, it’s never too early to start thinking about your Christmas food spread. Luckily, the team at Marks & Spencer agree, as the store has just unveiled its entire collection for 2019, and there’s a staggering 170 new products to enjoy.

The star of the show on Christmas Day itself is always the turkey, and this year M&S has made cooking the perfect crown easier than ever. Its new gamechanger of a bird is totally prepped and ready for the oven – all you have to do is pop it into the oven for two hours and dinner is served.

Of course, it’s not just turkey, with centrepieces also spanning beef shin, pork and veggie options too. Trimmings have also been given an upgrade, with items like Spanish pigs in blankets (pancetta around chorizo sausage) and vegan alternatives such as no-pork pigs in duvets.

Dessert-wise, M&S has come up trumps by combining two of our all-time favourites in the form of a sticky toffee trifle, as well as reimagining Christmas pud in sticky toffee format too. There’s also a showstopping Baked Alaska you can serve straight from the freezer, and even a Christmas Colin the Caterpillar, complete with chocolate Santa hat and candy cane accessories.

For 2019, there’s super imaginative canapé offerings like porcini and truffle crumpets and and bao-style prawn sliders, plus tear and share crowdpleasers like Brie en croute, and gin smoked salmon edged with edible gold glitter.

This year’s collection also includes an even larger selection of gluten-free products including mince pies, Christmas pudding and a selection of party food – so no one needs to feel left out.

This extends as far as the Christmas sandwiches, where there’s also a new vegan sandwich layering sweet potato, chestnut & cranberry roast, butternut squash, cranberry chutney, pistachios and caramelised pecans with an almond butter vegan mayo dressing. Plus, old on-the-go favourites like sausage rolls have been given a makeover with a new Ho Ho Ho design.
