Marks & Spencer has brought back its sell-out jacket, with two new colours available

The perfect lightweight jacket can be layered under thick coats, worn on spring days with jeans and dresses, or chucked on with leggings and trainers for the school run. It’s small enough to pop in a bag, but warm enough to keep out a chilly breeze, and ideally, it will look unbelievably chic too.

Well, it turns out Marks & Spencer came up with that dream jacket last autumn, as a £55 khaki quilted number from the Per Una range sold out quickly, leading to eBay bidding wars for the last few available.

You may well have already seen the coat on social media, where various fashion influencers styled it with dresses, chunky roll-necks or all-white ensembles.

Now, the high street retailer has brought the jacket back – and, given its former popularity, they’ve boosted the offering, with two new colours to choose from. As well as classic khaki, there’s also spring-ready lilac and blue to choose from (a canny move, as we think the Instagram crowd will go wild for these eye-catching shades).

Collarless puffer jacket, £55, Marks & Spencer

The lightweight puffer ticks of several boxes on this season’s trend checklist, not only with the bright colours (which we’ve also seen across tailoring this spring), but also the onion quilting, boxy shape and dipped hem. It also has pockets, an absolute winner for us.

As for the reviews, shoppers describe the jacket as ‘soft and comfortable’, ‘good quality’ and versatile: ‘Can use as a layer underneath another jacket for colder months…or on its own as a light car coat when we have warmer weather’. They do however mention the coat comes up big, so you may want to size down if you don’t love the oversized look.
