There’s a new version of L’Oreal’s Wonder Water

Remember when L’Oreal Paris Wonder Water launched, and became the biggest beauty sensation of 2021?

The product revolutionised the way many of us condition our hair, offering an eight-second formula which you applied after shampoo. It promised to seal cuticles, restore the hair’s elasticity and leave it smoother, shinier, softer, glossier and healthier – and according to reviews from beauty editors, influencers and shoppers, it genuinely did do the job (it currently has 321 five-star reviews on the Boots website). Many said the product essentially did the job of a hair mask, but took only a few seconds in the shower, compared to waiting half an hour.

At its peak L’Oreal Paris Elvive Wonder Water sold one bottle every minute, and so it’s no surprise that this year, L’Oreal is adding to this bestselling product range with a new version of Wonder Water liquid conditioner, specifically targeted at coloured hair.

The new product works in the same way as the original, using the power of lamellar technology and working in eight seconds flat. This time, however, it’s been pH-optimised for coloured hair, promising to make it five times shinier, nine times more hydrated and 97% more reinforced. Sounds pretty good to us.

The liquid conditioner works by resurfacing and smoothing the hair fibres, before sealing in colour and infusing tresses with intense hydration. The result is nourished, more manageable hair and colour that stays looking vibrant. Wonder Water works for all hair types, colours and textures, and promises not to over-condition or weigh down hair.

If you’re a colour fiend and want to give it a try, now is a good time, as L’Oreal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Wonder Water is currently half price at Superdrug, down from £9.99 to just £4.99. Time to see how it compares to the original!
