With the majority of us either working from home, on furlough or at least spending more time at home than we normally would thanks to lockdown’s socialising restrictions, we’ve no doubt all seen our heating bills skyrocket, especially through the recent freezing cold snaps of winter.
You may have been tempted to invest in an expensive fan heater such as Dyson’s lauded Hot + Cool fan heaters, but they cost an eye-watering £400. You may as well stick the heating on for that money.
So luckily, Lidl’s launch of an affordable smart heater that also doubles as a cooling fan for summer is very well timed indeed. It’s smart because it connects to and can be controlled by your phone. It joins Lidl’s Smart Home range that launched last year, which includes smart light bulbs, smart colour changing light bulbs and smart plugs, all of which can connect to the Lidl Smart Home System using Wi-Fi and be controlled from a phone or remote control – without even having to leave the sofa.
Costing £49.99 and available to pick up in Lidl stores from Sunday 21 February, the smart ceramic fan heater features 3D air circulation to ensure an even room temperature, two heat settings (including the option for no heat for the summer) and a timer function (two, four or eight hours) for even more control.
The fan can tilt and oscillate so the heat is exactly as you want it, and comes complete with a small remote control – but we love the idea of operating it from our smartphone.
The Lidl smart fan heater might not look quite as sleek as Dyson’s chic fan heaters, but for a £350 saving, it’s not to be sniffed at.
Of course, as with all Middle of Lidl buys, this won’t stick around for long so we suggest getting to your nearest Lidl store if you fancy getting hold of the bargain Lidl smart fan heater for yourself.
