Regardless of your skin type, one thing that your complexion needs more than anything else is moisture, and one of the best ways to deliver that is hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that occurs naturally in our bodies already – however, its ability to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water means that applying it topically leaves skin looking plumped, nourished and hydrated on the surface too.
It’s not uncommon to find hyaluronic acid and its derivatives in high-street skincare, and now even budget supermarket Lidl is bringing the ingredient to a store near you, with the launch of its Hydro Expert line.
The new edit includes basics like a micellar water, cream and gel cleansers, plus a selection of moisturisers with different textures. Each item is infused with hyaluronic sodium – essentially the salt version of hyaluronic acid, which is used by manufacturers because it’s more stable and less likely to oxidise in their formulas.
It still delivers the same moisture-boosting properties, which will come in especially handy if your pores are feeling the pressure from the UK’s constantly-changing temperatures of late (blazing sunshine one minute and pouring rain the next, thank you very much autumn).
Plus, prices in the range fall between the £1.49 and £2.99 range, so it won’t break the brand to put it to work.
Lidl’s existing Cien collection has already received rave reviews – particularly the Q10 Intensive Serum, which combines hyaluronic with nourishing ingredients like almond oil to create a restorative glow-inducing blend.
Don’t be surprised if the Hydro Expert follows in its highly successful footsteps – it’s in stores now, so aim for the front of the queue in your local before it sells out entirely.
