We’re used to seeing Kate Middleton in chic evening-wear and sophisticated dresses, so it was refreshing to see the Duchess take a step back from her occasion-wear to sport something a little more casual, and in particular, to see her in trainers.
To put the final touches on her Back To Nature Garden before presenting it to the Queen herself, Kate rocked a pared down ensemble that looked understated yet stylish. Wearing a £255 broderie anglaise shirt by M.i.h Jeans, along with a pair of practical brown culottes, The Duchess finished off her look with some cult Superga 2750 trainers.
The great news is that these ultra-versatile trainers will only set you back £49.99, and will go with just about everything. From lightweight summer trousers like Kate’s culottes, to jeans, and even skirts and dresses, these really are the perfect summer shoe for comfort and style. You can buy them online from Office.
This is not the first time Kate has shown off her affordable trainers; she also wore them back in 2017 while attending the London Marathon. Prior to this, The Duchess first debuted her cool sneakers during her trip to Canada in 2016. While helping to sail a boat around the harbour in Victoria, British Columbia, Kate was seen wearing her pristine white shoes.
The Superga trainers were first invented as a tennis shoe in the early 1900s, and have become a hit amongst the fashion set ever since.
Describing the shoe, Superga says:
‘Our Classic Superga 2750 Cotu shoe is Fashion’s trainer of choice. With an extra strong, fully breathable, pure cotton upper, our timeless shape trainer is a lightweight, simple canvas tennis shoe with our vulcanised rubber sole. In production since 1911, this is the staple shoe with full versatility, and is the very definition of smart casual.’
As well as trainers, Kate is a big fan of chunky walking boots when she’s keeping it casual in the winter. One of her favourite pairs are by See By Chloe, and there are plenty of high street dupes available.
