When it comes to chocolate, what’s more synonymous with Easter than a Cadbury’s Creme Egg? Not much, in our books. The gooey egg-shaped treats have been dominating the choccie-filled holiday for some time now, but this year will be the first time we can get our hands on a whole tin of the fondant-filled treats.
While standard tins are available at multiple retailers, including Tesco and Waitrose, true Creme Egg fanatics (and let’s face it, who’s not?) will want to head down to John Lewis’ flagship store on Oxford Street to witness the first in-store Creme Egg experience, the EATertainment store.
Open until 13 April, the good people at John Lewis & Partners and Cadbury have tapped into our love of nostalgia to bring us the very first Creme Egg-themed retro style video store – it’s the pop-up we didn’t know we needed until now.
Customers are invited to explore the fun-filled store, which will be showing trailers of Creme Egg-themed short films (or ‘goovies’) including The Delivery, The Other Half and Armeggedon. While doing so, you’ll have the chance to get your sweet fix by filling personalised Creme Eggs tins with a combination of 12 Cadbury filled eggs (choices include the classic Creme Egg as well as Oreo and Caramel filled varieties) and three mini egg bags (including Dairy Milk, Dairy Milk Oreo and Mini Creme Egg) all for the price of £15.
Dan Cooper, Partner and Gift Food Buyer at John Lewis & Partners, says of the pop-up and personalised Creme Eggs tins: ‘We are very excited to be bringing the first Cadbury Creme Egg in-store experience to life. It will be the perfect activity over the Easter break as I think everyone will get a pure nostalgia hit in our take on the video store. As we know our customers really love an immersive experience where they can explore and have fun, we expect this to be a big hit.’
The tins make a great alternative to an Easter egg, or the perfect opportunity for a self-gift. We’ll see you in store!
