We’ve all wondered (too) long and (too) hard about what exactly happens behind the closed doors of an In Goop Health summit – the live event experience offered by Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness brand Goop – where tickets can cost up to an eye-watering £4,500.
For the uninitiated, Goop is the brainchild of Hollywood A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow, an online lifestyle destination that has become synonymous with all things weird and wacky in the world of wellness. From vibrator necklaces to vagina-scented candles, there’s no knowing what the modern day guru of wellness will tout next. But we love to stick around to see.
One of the many arms of the Goop brand is the aforementioned In Goop Health summits, where wide-eye women enter and re-emerge glossy and worldly (and touting goody bags bursting with Goop merch). What did they learn in there? What do they now know that we don’t?
For those of us unwilling to part with more money than a long weekend city break should cost to find out, we may be about to get all the answers we’ve been looking for. Gwyneth has launched weekly virtual online Goop summits – and it’s totally free to attend. There’s an advisory donation to international humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders, but it’s not compulsory and only if you can afford to.
Streaming every Wednesday, ‘In goop Health: The Sessions’ is a digital series of one-hour wellness sessions ‘with an expert we admire. There will be spirituality workshops, workouts, intimate conversations, interactive exercises, and practical, effective takeaway tools for navigating this time,’ explains the Youtube description.
There have already been two sessions, which you can still catch via the Goop Youtube channel. The first session was a masterclass in intuition by intuitive healer Dana Childs, where we learnt whether to trust our body, mind, spirit or soul when it comes to making decisions.
The second session was introduced by Gwyneth herself and consisted of a KINGRY workout – ‘a high-intensity workout that takes you on a journey through dance, meditation, breathwork, and strength training to sculpt the mind, body, and soul’ – led by Julianne Hough, dancer, singer and inventor of KINGRY.
It’s all as ‘Goop-y’ as you’d expect – and we can’t wait to tune into the next live session.
