If you’ve still got a prairie dress or two hanging in your wardrobe from last summer, do not – we repeat, do not – let it go. Holly Willoughby’s latest look has assured us that the trend will be returning for 2020, while also highlighting one of the chicest styles on the rails right now.
The star, who works with stylist Angie Smith to compile her on-screen outfits, appeared on Tuesday morning (4 February) wearing a puff-sleeved, square-necked dress from & Other Stories, and we couldn’t be more smitten with the piece.
Teamed with a pair of pointed neutral heels – a regular Holly shoe go-to – the green printed dress makes for a perfect mid-season ensemble. Add a coat and you’ve got enough coverage to keep you warm, but will also look great with lighter jackets and bare legs when the warmer weather finally makes its triumphant return.
At £79, we’ll admit that it’s not the cheapest item we’ve spotted Ms Willoughby wearing on screen, but it’s certainly not the most expensive, either.
Plus, the extra details, like the slit in the skirt and the smocked panelling, elevate it from staple to statement, and so we’re confident it’s an investment piece that won’t disappoint.
Holly’s fresh, minty colourway feels very spring-appropriate, but if you’re more into a monochrome palette, you’ll be pleased to hear that the dress also comes in black and white for the same price.
This Morning viewers were almost unanimously enamoured with the fashion-forward choice, commenting on Holly’s Instagram account in their hundreds to compliment the star.
‘Love the shape of this piece ?? particularly the sleeves. Looking lovely Holly,’ wrote one, while another agreed: ‘I love this dress! You look gorgeous ✨’
Dozens of others tagged their friends and began making plans to buy one for themselves, so if you’re also head over heels for the dress, you’ll want to make your purchase sooner rather than later. We’ve got a feeling stocks of this one are going to deplete very quickly…
