We all know that feeling of turning up to a party in the same dress as someone else, but it must be even tougher for celebrities, whose every outfit is instantly photographed and immortalised online forever.
Nevertheless, that’s exactly what happened yesterday to Holly Willoughby and Amanda Holden. Whilst they weren’t actually in the same place, they both rocked up to work – Holly Willoughby to her presenting job on This Morning and Amanda Holden to host her daily Heart FM radio breakfast show – in the same dress.
Actually, it’s not such a bad thing when the dress in question is this gorgeous. It’s from independent fashion brand Anne-Louise Boutique, and features a dainty blue floral print with white floral embroidery, which create a subtle striped effect. Made from 100 per cent cotton, the cut of the midi dress oozes classic femininity, with exaggerated puff sleeves, a high round neckline and A-line shape.
While Holly kept her accessories very minimal, opting for a simple pair of Gianvito Rossi beige suede stiletto heels and no jewellery, Amanda paired her dress with a white, round top-handle Aspinal of London handbag, white high heels, big sunglasses and a few gold bangles on her wrist. While it may have used to be considered a fashion faux pas to be caught in the same dress as another celebrity, we think both women rocked it excellently and look fabulous.
At £157, it’s the perfect special occasion dress, whether that’s attending a summer wedding, christening or any kind of party. The high neckline and busy print mean accessories can be kept to a minimum to allow the dress to do all the talking.
Since Holly Willoughby and Amanda Holden both stepped out in the dress on the exact same day, it’s no surprise that it has already sold out online. Don’t fear though, as it’s currently available for pre-order in sizes 6-16, with deliveries expected to be sent out from 10-15 May. There’s no telling if it will get restocked again after this, so we’d suggest pre-ordering it now to avoid disappointment.
