When we think of an affordable destination for dresses on the high street, our minds instantly conjure up images of H&M. The Scandi store has been providing us with trend-led pieces and wear-forever treasures for decades, and seems to only continue to up its game as time goes on. Case in point? The latest edit of H&M sustainable dresses for autumn, which are some of the most stunning designs we’ve seen from the retailers so far.
But there’s more to this elegant everyday attire than meets the eye – not only does it look great, it’s doing great things for the planet, as it’s part of H&M’s Conscious collection, and completely crafted from different types of recycled material. The first of these is made from textile waste from garments during the manufacturing process, and the other comes from recycled plastic waste such as PET bottles.
Made in simple monochrome palettes and timeless silhouettes that’ll never feel dated or out of style, H&M hopes to encourage us to buy once and rewear continually; ‘this year we don’t have an it-trend from the catwalks on our mind, but something bigger: fashion made with less impact that will last (and stay stylish) for a long time,’ the brand explains on its website.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better? They’ve kept the prices characteristically low, with gorgeous lace and jacquard dresses starting from as little as £19.99. Scroll on to see the wardrobe staples you definitely won’t want to miss…
