H&M really is the gift that keeps on giving. It provides with good, affordable (and quality) fashion, and has an excellent home accessories offering to make all of our minimalist Scandi dreams come true. Now, the Swedish high street giant is giving IKEA a run for its money by expanding this range into furniture too.
That’s right – H&M now sells design-focused benches, stools, pouffes, side tables and wall shelves as part of its new furniture collection. And that’s not all, the retailer is also offering a varied selection of lighting options – from cute little table lamps to hanging shades.
‘Each piece of our new furniture line has been carefully designed to not only fit effortlessly into any room, but also express timeless design and diversity in style,’ said Mattias Chrisander, product designer at H&M Home. ‘We are very excited about this launch.’
The entire collection will be priced between £17.99 and £149.99, meaning you won’t have to make too much of a dent in your bank account to pick up a piece.
While the stylish furnishings will of course be focused on Scandinavian-influenced simplicity, the collection aims to go beyond interior trends by incorporating versatile materials such as marble and powder-coated steel. Cubist shapes and clean, modern lines also feature heavily.
However, you can also expect to see softer silhouettes as well with staple pieces such as black and grey stools, as well as tables, shelving and mirrors – all in a neutral palette of black, beige and cream.
The first batch of the furniture collection dropped online this week, and there will no doubt be more to follow.
H&M Home was first launched in 2009 and has been going from strength to strength ever since, offering everything from living room cushions and bed linen, candles and kitchenwear.
The retailer is set to open its first H&M Home standalone store later this year, so keep your eyes peeled.
