The UK has produced some of the most accomplished celebrities in the world – but now a new survey has revealed which famous face the UK considers to be our ‘greatest’.
The independent research, which was carried out by Achieve, a two-day event featuring prominent celebrities delivering talks on health, wealth and happiness, found that the country believes Sir David Attenborough to be the famous individual that has achieved the most in their life.
The 92-year-old broadcaster, who has fronted incredible nature documentaries including Blue Planet, Planet Earth and Life in recent years, secured the top spot with 54% of the vote.
However, he was closely followed by Virgin entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, Harry Potter author JK Rowling OBE, and iconic actress Dame Judi Dench.
The world of showbiz was further represented on the inspirational list by TV stars such as The Apprentice‘s Baron Alan Sugar, The X Factor‘s Simon Cowell, and former Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry, as well as award-winning musicians including Sir Paul McCartney, Adele, Ed Sheeran and Kathryn Jenkins.
The sporting achievements of tennis player Andy Murray, Olympic distance runner Mo Farah and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton were also celebrated – and that’s not all…
