This clever hack will make sure your shoes never smell again

Cleaning influencers have been on the rise ever since Mrs Hinch made her mark on social media. The 29-year-old, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, has been at the forefront of the housework trend which has swooped Instagram this year. And naturally plenty of others followed suit, including Lynsey Crombey, known as the ‘Queen of Clean.’

The influencer was recently showered with praise after revealing a secret hack that ensures you never have smelly shoes again – and it is genius.

Speaking to her 149,000 followers, Lynsey, who released a book earlier this year called How To Clean Your House: Easy tips and tricks to keep your home clean and tidy up your life, shared her go-to hack for fresh smelling shoes in an Instagram post and you won’t believe what it is.

Sharing an image of some bright yellow shoes stuffed with teabags (yes, actual teabags), she wrote: ‘✨Cleaning Tip Tuesday✨ . An oldie but a goodie today especially as the weather is heating up and there is nothing worse than smelly shoes.’

She continued: ‘Pop a few unused tea bags inside your smelly shoes to fight off bad odours that are caused by heat and bacteria.

✨Cleaning Tip Tuesday✨ . An oldie but a goodie today especially as the weather is heating up and there is nothing worse than smelly shoes . Pop a few unused tea bags inside your smelly shoes to fight off bad odours that are caused by heat and bacteria . Leave to sit over night in a warm dry place. The longer you leave the better . Any tea bags will work even the minty herbal ones. Tea bags are super absorbent and will suck the moisturiser and smell right out . To save waste make sure you reuse the ones from your shoes for other household tasks. Tea bags actually have lots of uses from cleaning marks of windows and mirrors to fertilising your plants . . . . #cleaningtiptuesday #smellyshoes #cleaningtip #clean #cleaning #advice #motivation #queenofclean #bacteria #freshfeet #trainners #nike #teabags #trick #homehack #familylife #mumsproblems
