B&M’s pink velvet chair is a great dupe for Oliver Bonas’s £395 alternative

B&M is known for its budget household buys, but recently it looks as though the retailer has upped its game in the style stakes with a stunning new addition to its furniture range.

The item in question is a pink velvet cocktail chair, complete with subtle scallop-style detailing on the back and chrome gold legs. With its retro style and plush velvet upholstering, the chair would add a touch of luxe and glamour to any room – it could create a statement-making focal point in a living room, or make for a lovely dressing table chair.

Of course, anyone who knows their high street homewares will recognise the design as a dupe for a very similar-looking one sold by high street store Oliver Bonas. But, while OB’s version costs £395, the B&M pink velvet chair comes with the much lower price tag of £100. To make the comparison we’re all thinking, you could buy four of B&M’s chair for the price of one of Oliver Bonas’s – if it’s a bargain you’re after, B&M’s wins hands down.

To create a blush pink paradise at home, the chair would look great accompanied by B&M’s £20 blush velvet footstool – it also features gold exposed legs, meaning the two items would make a wonderful set.

B&M isn’t the only retailer to emulate the Oliver Bonas chair, however: Aldi’s popular £79.99 pink velvet scalloped chair near instantly sells out every time it gets restocked online. They also sell it in grey and navy, and it features the same gold legs as the B&M pink velvet chair.

B&M don’t sell online, so you will have to use the online stock checker to see if your nearest B&M store has it in stock – and thanks to B&M being classed as an essential retailer, stores are currently open during lockdown.
