Let’s face it, finding love isn’t an easy task. It can be both exhausting and disheartening, even more so when you’re no longer in your 20s. But that certainly isn’t to say that it’s a lost cause for those looking for a partner later in life.
Whether you’re a divorcee getting back on the dating scene or simply haven’t found the right person yet, rest assured that your match is out there. You just have to make sure you’re in the right part of the country.
According to Lumen – a new dating app which has been designed specifically for the over 50s – if you’ve been struggling to find love it could be down to where you live. Some particular places are more suited to single women due to the amount of single men who live there too – so Lumen did their research and found that the best place in the UK for single women to meet single men, is *drum roll please* the Isles of Scilly.
The research conducted by the app found that Isles of Scilly, which are located off the Cornish coast, are home to 140 single men per 100 single women – although if that’s a bit too far to travel, London came in second place, with 133 single men per 100 single women in the capital.
Nevertheless, those who enjoy living in more of a rural area will be pleased to here that Copeland in Cumbria ranked in as the third best hotspot for single women ready to mingle with their male peers, with 103 single men per 100 women.
On a wider geographical scale, women are more likely to find love in the north of the country where they are outnumbered by the amount of single men on average. With that being said, two places you should certainly avoid as a single woman are Harrow in North London amd Merton and Barnet, which were found to be the worst areas for those looking for The One.
