When you think about iconic perfumes that sell, sell, sell, you may be tempted to name beloved scents such as Chanel No.5, Dior Miss Dior, and Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir.
However, surprisingly, the perfume that is sold once every 20 seconds is not any of these. It is in fact by veteran beauty brand Avon, and it’s called Eve Truth.
The scent, which is priced at a purse-friendly £14, was created by renowned French perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, and features notes of amber, gardenia, peony, and cedarwood.
The brand describes the perfume as ‘an irresistible multi-sensory experience that encompasses femininity, elegance, sensuality and strength.’
Popular perfume website Fragrantica gave the perfume 3.62 out of 5, a score which was voted for by users. Comments on both Fragrantica and the Avon website notably compare the smell to that of spring, with others commenting how it smells just like Marc Jacobs Daisy.
‘I love the clean, crisp breeze it brings,’ one reviewer commented.
‘It’s not perfumey, more like just a fresh spring breeze… and I love Spring!’
What’s more, you can currently buy Avon Eve Truth in time for Mother’s Day, and receive a free gift worth £32.25. The gift includes the following: Eve Truth EDP Purse Spray, Avon Eve Truth Body Lotion 15ml, Avon True Nutra Effects Mini Oil-Infused Micellar Water 50ml, Avon True Nutra Effects Miracle Glow Nourishing Oil Cream 50ml, Planet Spa Heavenly Hydration Face Mask 75ml, True Colour Pro+ Nail Enamel 10ml in Sea Breeze and an Avon Eve Truth Beauty Bag.
Other popular perfumes with similar stats include Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy, which apparently sells once every minute, and Chanel No.5, which was found to be The Perfume Shop’s bestselling perfume for 25 years back in 2017.
Gill Smith, The Perfume Shop Managing Director, said of Chanel No.5: ‘Chanel No.5 is, and has always been, our best-selling luxury perfume. It’s loved by women for its distinctive scent and heritage, and loved by men as they know that any scented gift they give with the famous inter-locking C’s will always be happily received.’
