If you’ve ever encountered an Aveda fan, you’re probably heard them raving about the Cherry Almond Bark range. The iconic scented haircare was one of the beauty brand’s first releases, remaining a firm favourite amongst shoppers for 30 years until it was discontinued (sob) in 2008.
But if you were one of those who loved and lost your go-to products, prepare to have your day made, because the fragrance is back, in the form of Aveda’s new Cherry Almond softening shampoo and conditioner. While the formula isn’t exactly the same, Aveda say that the signature smell still lingers….
Say hello to the NEW #CherryAlmond Softening Shampoo and Conditioner — its blend of 38 essences will quickly become your new addiction. Run, don't walk to your salon or store (or https://t.co/BCLTt9kLsY) to get yours! #smellslikeaveda https://t.co/82fznqjP7K pic.twitter.com/8qQVLibDZX

The new collection has already launched in America – where, Aveda confirms to stylist.co.uk, it promptly sold out within weeks of launching and quickly garnered a waiting list of more than 2,000 people.
Nostalgic purchasers are already taking to social media to celebrate the relaunch, with one writing: ‘Love seeing the old products returning. I been using Aveda since the 1980’s.’
‘So excited about this. I remember long ago …glad Aveda brought it back,’ another agreed.
Honestly, IS there such a thing as too many shampoos and conditioners? We’re going to go with NO —especially when you’re talking about Cherry Almond! No shower is complete without its softening magic and sweet, juicy aroma. https://t.co/aIbcBsZ1Fe pic.twitter.com/4DS1vPNUfn

As for why the products are such a hit? Delicious scent aside, the Cherry Almond collection is ’98% naturally-derived, colour safe and cruelty free, and can have amazing result on a range of hair types. Cherry Almond’s ingredients include babassu and coconut-derived cleansers, plus a blend of cherry blossom and sweet almond oil to help restore softness and shine.
In the States, the bottles start from $17 for 250ml, which works out at the equivalent of around £13.
However, UK shoppers will have to wait a little longer to get their bakewell tart-infused fix, as the Aveda Cherry Almond products will not arrive on our shores until 1 October. We’d highly suggest circling the date on your calendar and getting in the front of the queue when the stock finally drops, lest the curse of the waiting list arrives here too!
