The trend for mid-weight jackets such as the humble shacket (that’s shirt meets jacket, for the uninitiated) is not going anywhere any time soon, so when a certain & Other Stories wool blazer went viral last year, it came as no great surprise. It came in a number of muted colours and was spotted on just about everyone – or everyone on Instagram, anyway.
Every woman needs a reliable blazer in her wardrobe, and this one turned out to be one of the best on the high street, thanks to its slightly heavier fabric and perfect cut.
But of course, no sooner had we spotted it on the & Other Stories website had it sold out in every size and colour, so popular was it. However, if you missed out last time and the time after that, we have great news: the blazer is back in new colours for SS21.
The Wool Blend Oversized Blazer is made from 65 per cent wool, and so can act as an outside jacket in spring as well as a blazer to throw on top of jeans and a tee, or a dress while inside. When layered with knitwear underneath, it serves as the perfect early spring jacket, keeping you warm but not weighing you down too much.
While the design did originally come in seven neutral shades – including an understated black version, several nudes and beiges, a couple of different browns, and a deep green – for now, it’s just back for SS21 in a couple of highly covetable neutral shades.
The cut is also something to write home about, as it’s slightly oversized and longline.
Influencers such as Hannah Crosskey were loving the style last year, which goes with just about everything. You could pair it with a roll-neck or a t-shirt and jeans, or throw it over a floral dress or silk midi skirt. The options really are endless.
Unsurprisingly, the blazer is already flying off the shelves again thanks to its style and versatility, so we recommend placing your order sooner rather than later to avoid missing out again.
