Amazon Prime Day is always a big date in the diary for shoppers, and this year, it looks set to be better than ever with another two day run. The retailer has just confirmed the dates for October’s event; here’s everything you need to know including when it will run and how to access the deals.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day has been running now since 2015. It is basically a day of amazing discounts on selected products, that last for 24 hours. In addition to these, there are usually a number of flash sales on other items, that can last several hours. In 2019, Amazon Prime Day lasted for 48 hours, not 24, meaning the ‘day’ long deals actually were around for two whole days rather than just one.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2020?
Amazon has just announced that Amazon Prime Day 2020 will begin at 00:01 on Tuesday, October 13, with offers running until 23:59 on Wednesday, October 14. This is a little later than usual, with the day being postponed from its usual July start.
How can you access Amazon Prime Day 2020?
As its names suggests, Amazon Prime Day is an exclusive shopping event for Prime members. If you are not already joined as a Prime member, you can do so now for £7.99 per month or £79 a year. Not only will the membership give you access to Amazon Prime Day now and for years to come, but it also provides other perks such as free next day delivery, and access to Prime Video, where shows such as Little Fires Everywhere and This Is Us live.
Amazon Prime Day will be available to Prime members in the following countries, as well as the UK: the US, Canada, Australia, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Singapore, UAE, Mexico, China and Japan. The events will run for the very first time this year in Turkey and Brazil too.
What are the best deals in Amazon Prime Day 2020?
So far, Amazon have kept quiet about what we can expect from the deals this year, but one thing we do know about is the pre-Prime Day small business promotion. If you spend £10 with selected small businesses in the run-up to Prime Day, you can claim £10 credit to spend on October 13 or 14. You can find out more here.
