Amanda Holden has snapped up the £39 Topshop dress of the season

Every now and then a dress arrives on the rails that suits almost everyone. And this summer, it’s Topshop’s Austin dress.

The angel sleeve, midaxi-length number has proved so popular with customers that it’s already sold out multiple times, prompting the brand to release it in an even wider selection of gorgeous prints to keep up with the demand.

And now we know that Amanda Holden is one of the lucky ones, managing to get her hands on the daisy print version of the dress, just in time to stay cool in the UK’s soaring temperatures.

Amanda, 48, wore the outfit to present Sunday morning’s Heart Radio breakfast show, which she co-hosts with Jamie Theakston, and sharing a quick snap of the look earned her even more compliments than usual.

‘How can you look amazing every single morning? Wow!’ one of her followers exclaimed, while another commented: ‘Holy guacamole, you look beyond stunning.’

‘Topshop??? Oh my life, that dress is so going to sell out now. Fabulous!’ a third agreed – and as their prediction has already come true several times over, even without Amanda’s endorsement, we can only imagine how fast the £39 dress will fly out of stores now.

At the time of writing, the hero piece was available on the Topshop website in sizes 6-16, but we don’t imagine it’ll stay that way for long. Amanda Holden Topshop dress

Speaking about her style influences in her recent YOU magazine cover interview, Amanda said she picks high street pieces just as happily as designer buys.

‘I go through different phases,’ she explained – and while she may have chosen couture for some of 2019’s Britain’s Got Talent appearances, day to day, she prefers to be accessible: ‘If someone asks me, I like to say, “This is from Zara.” If I admire someone’s outfit, I hate it when they say to me, “It’s Dolce!” because even I go, “I’m not buying that – that’s the school fees!”’
