Sip sip hooray! It’s the day Aldi wine fans have been waiting for: the supermarket has confirmed that its beloved wine advent calendar is making a return to the shelves for 2021.Aldi’s wine offering is widely renowned as one of the best and more affordable on the shelves, so it’s only right that we celebrate December by sampling its delights in more detail.
Inside the appropriately festive-looking packaging, Aldi has hidden 24 different miniature bottles of red, white, rosé or fizz – the still wines are 187.5ml and sparkling are 200ml, if you want to know exactly what you’re getting for your money.
And with a different wine to discover every day in the run up to Christmas, all sourced from the top wine growing regions, such as Bordeaux and Macon Villages, the store has still managed to keep the calendar at an impressively low price, retailing for just £49.99.
However, if you’re one of those people who prefers all of their wine to come with bubbles, we’d also like to direct your attentions to Aldi’s sparkling wine advent calendar for 2021, which also contains 24 mini – and crucially, fizzy – bottles of joy.
A smidge more expensive at £59.99, this pink Art Deco-inspired second offering promises a wide variety of Prosecco and other Italian sparkling wines to try in the build up to the big day. Alongside traditional prosecco, you’ll also find sparkling rosé and sparkling Pinot Grigio variants, making for a cork-popping countdown that will surprise and delight throughout the whole of December.
The Aldi wine and prosecco advent calendars will be available in stores and online from 1 November, so there’s not too long to wait until you can get your hands on one (either for yourself, or as a brilliant gift for a vino-savvy friend).
For 2021, Aldi has gone above and beyond by also creating a gin advent calendar for £69.99 and a craft beer advent calendar for £44.99, also available from 1 November.
