Hold the phone and stop the press, all our homeware dreams have been answered by the interiors geniuses at Aldi. The budget supermarket’s pink velvet scalloped cocktail chair that is virtually identical in almost every way to one sold by Oliver Bonas – minus the £395 price tag – is back.
Yep, Aldi’s much-loved £79.99 version is back and it’s just as sumptuous and luxurious as its OB counterpart. Previously, the design has been treated to a luxe update by way of metallic gold legs, but this time we’ve gone back to the classic wooden legs.
In soft velvet upholstering, the chair comes in pink, navy blue and grey. A statement or accent chair is an ideal way to inject some glamour and style to a room and will instantly update any existing decor. The pink version will command attention, a real scene-stealer of a piece, while the dark blue and grey will subtly integrate with the rest of a room, offering a touch of elegance without overriding any pre-existing colour schemes.
‘Adding an accent piece to your home is an easy way to bring an instant touch of glamour,’ reads the online description. ‘This Pink Velvet Scalloped Armchair is the perfect addition to any room in the home. With its glamourous gold legs, this style will fit in with any decor whilst the velvet look and feel of the upholstered seat will encourage you to take the time for some much needed relaxation.’
The scalloped cocktail chair has been having a moment for some time now, with many high-end homeware designers and brands, from Oliver Bonas to Wayfair and Le Maison Chic churning out their own versions, making Aldi’s version a real steal in terms of price.
Even Dunelm’s own version at £149 can’t match Aldi’s jaw-dropping price, and as we know, soft pink is still trending for interiors, meaning this chair ticks a lot of boxes for anyone looking to quickly upgrade their home on a budget. We’ve already placed our orders…
Part of the latest drop of homewares in the supermarket’s infamous Specialbuys range (where the saying ‘once it’s gone, it’s gone’ really comes into its own), the chair is exclusively available online. However, these chairs always cause quite a stir when they’re restocked and inevitably sell out rather quickly. But don’t worry, if you do miss out this time, just keep your eyes peeled for the next restock.
