The countdown is over and London Fashion Week has finally arrived. As one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar, we’ve spent months preparing to make sure we’re ready for the hectic schedule that lies ahead.
Darting around London between shows each day, it’s vital to only take the essentials. So here, the YOU fashion team have spilled their secrets and compiled their Fashion Week musts.
With everyone looking at what you’re wearing, a blazer is an investment. It can be thrown on over any outfit to make it instantly smarter, whilst still looking chic.
Running around London all day takes a toll on your skin so we try to keep ours as hydrated and fresh looking as possible in between shows. This Ren Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist is a great one to protect our skin while we’re in the busy city all week.
With long days on our feet ahead, comfy shoes are an absolute must have. Flats or a pair of trainers are perfect for getting us through the week, even if we keep them in the car for a quick shoe change between shows. We always make sure we have plasters close by too!
We don’t have much time in between shows, so snacks keep us going. Our favourite this season is Tony’s Chocolonely – striving to make 100% slave free the norm in the chocolate industry – and Howdah Snacks, the authentic Indian nibbles that gives back.
We’re on our phones a lot taking photos and scouring social media. A portable charger is a life saver, there’s nothing worse than one per cent battery when you’re not even halfway through the day.
Drinking copious amounts of coffee during the five days means we want to reduce our plastic waste as much as we possibly can. A reusable coffee cup is the perfect essential for us.
A bag big enough to fit everything is a necessity. A neutral colour means we can use it for different outfits over the five days and we can squeeze our survival kit into it. Not forgetting those all-important show invites.
There is no way we would be able to get across London to each show on time without a car. The Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine Inscription has an electric driving range of 28.6 miles so it’s great for urban journeys with more than enough range to drive on pure electric. It gets us from A to B without any of the Fashion Week fuss.
