High street giant Zara are at it again with yet another lust-worthy campaign. The new S/S 20 campaign has been shot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel, and it’s equal parts dreamy, grungy, romantic and cool – everything we now want for our at-home lockdown wardrobes.
While it feels like the world around us is falling apart at the seams, indulging in a spot of online shopping and indulging in life’s luxuries can be the little lift you need in an otherwise difficult day. And if you’re worried about receiving deliveries amid the coronavirus outbreak, everything you need to know about ordering clothes online safely is right here.
So, back to that Zara collection. Named ‘The Romantics’, it seems Zara’s ethos for SS20 is ‘more is more’, drawing on a variety of references to create a unique and thoroughly modern vision for the season ahead. The result is a melting pot of 90s grunge, Victoriana and 70s bohemia influences, which together create a beautifully romantic yet modern collection of luxe, limited edition pieces that work just as well together as they will taken apart and inserted into your existing wardrobe.
There are plenty of dresses in the collection, from slinky jacquard slips to flowy kimono-inspired styles and beaded maxis. This exquisite offering is peppered with oversized tailoring, velvet trousers, cropped sweaters and military-inspired outerwear. Embellishment and beading feature heavily, as do romantic florals and grungy checks. Also, PSA: chain belts are back in business, as is the skinny scarf.
The styling, as always, is totally on point – and basically a masterclass in layering. Sheer materials like organza have been heavily employed throughout, which makes for perfect lightweight layering – perfect for throwing on and wafting around the house and garden in.
