Zara has elevated the ‘bradigan’ to a three-piece outfit that costs under £65

When Katie Holmes stepped out in that now-iconic matching bra and cardigan look last year, a whole new fashion concept was born – the ‘bradigan’ – and we’ve continued to lust after it ever since.

Thankfully, Zara has been coming up trumps time and again with various (and more affordable – Katie’s set cost an eye-watering $2,060), knitted iterations of the look. First there was the classic oatmeal-coloured knitted coordinating cardigan and bralette, then there was the equally lust-worthy chunky matching knitted shorts and cardigan combo.

And now, for summer 2020, the fashion retailer has returned to the popular style and reinvented it again, this time as a complete three-piece outfit consisting of a matching knitted cardigan, bralette and skirt.

Zara co ord set

The three items are all available as separate pieces, with the top priced at £12.99 and the skirt and cardigan both £25.99 each. All three pieces are made from the same ribbed khaki knit; the cardigan is cropped and the skirt is a body-hugging midi length, meaning you can flash some skin while still feeling covered up.

The outfit was first spotted on fashion influencer @mcgrogs, who excellently schools us on how to work the three pieces together as a complete look, pairing the outfit with chunky white trainers and a cross-body bag for a casual look, but noting in her caption that it would look just as good dressed up with some heels for the weekend.

However, we also know they’d look just as good mixed and matched with other pieces, providing your wardrobe with a wealth of different styles and new looks to try out – think the bralette with washed out straight leg jeans or the knitted midi skirt with a crisp cropped white shirt.

Others have also been quick to scoop up the new co-ord from Zara, taking to Instagram to show off their styling of the outfit.

As with any cult buy, these pieces are flying off the shelves (real and virtual) fast, so we suggest hurrying to the checkout if you fancy getting in on the knitted co-ord trend this summer.
