Budget retailer Wilko has been pulling out all the stops lately when it comes to its homeware ranges – just yesterday we reported on the £6 Wilko seagrass vase that’s all over Instagram and now today we’ve spotted another insanely stylish and yet super affordable buy on the Wilko shelves.
First spotted on Wilko’s Instagram page, one of the brand’s most recent posts caught our beady eyes because it featured a chic tortoiseshell tumbler. Tortoiseshell glassware has been having a moment lately and high-end interior brands and retailers including MADE, Amara, OKA, &Klevering and Maisons du Monde have put it on everything from vases and lamps to plates and candles.
A few days before, Wilko had posted another picture of the tortoiseshell tumblers alongside some matching wine glasses and a vase in store, which gained just shy of 4,000 likes and over 600 comments: ‘Oh I love these’ wrote one Wilko fan; ‘Got mine a month ago fantastic’ said another.
At £12 for a set of four highball tumblers, they’re much better value than other pricier versions. MADE’s, for example, cost £29 for a set of 6, while Blue Pheasant’s glasses (sold on Amara) are a staggering £30 each. Devon-based The Forest & Co (sold on Not On The High Street) sell a set of four for £52, proving that the Wilko tortoiseshell tumblers really are the best deal out there.
As for Wilko’s tortoiseshell vase, that seems to be a purse-friendly dupe for OKA’s £50 glass vase (below). It’s no longer online so we can’t verify the price (although we can guarantee you it will be much less than £50), but if you head in store you may be lucky enough to find one on the shelf.
If it’s the tortoiseshell wine glasses that have caught your eye, these are still available on Wilko’s website at £14 for a set of four – you can buy them here.
