Claudia Winkleman’s sellout Strictly dress is back in stock

The competition is heating up in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, but despite the amazing talent on show, we sometimes find ourselves getting distracted in the online hunt to find out where Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly’s outfits are from.

Several weekends ago, for instance, Claudia wowed us in a black, sequin wrap dress, the type that would be just perfect for Christmas parties. Even more excitingly, on her Instagram she tagged the dress as being from Zara – meaning it’s affordable for us mere mortals.

The good news is that Claudia’s stunning Zara dress has just been restocked online – but if you want it don’t hang around, as we expect this one to fly off the digital shelves.

The V-neck mini dress looks great with black tights (we also spotted Instagram style queen @thefashion_lift wearing it as a jacket over black trousers, which looked equally fabulous). It’s a wrap style with a silky lapel, plus a concealed button to keep it closed and avoid any accidental flashing disasters.

Elsewhere in Strictly style news, the show’s head of hair and makeup Lisa Armstrong has been telling the Radio Times some surprising secrets about how the contestants get ready.

‘You wouldn’t believe what is in our hair and make-up kits,’ she said. ‘We have coat hangers to make sure pigtails stay bent and Pritt Stick to glue down eyebrows.

She added: ‘A lot of the time, hair attachments are gaffer-taped and then actually sewn in so that they’re 100 per cent secure. Can you imagine someone flinging their head around and the hair attachment flying off? It doesn’t bear thinking about.’

The wardrobe team, meanwhile, create around 400 costumes for each series, and get through what feels like ‘hundreds of shoes’ due to the wear and tear they undergo. As for whether anyone gets to keep their outfit: ‘Bill Bailey wanted to keep the suit he had for the Rapper’s Delight routine.’

We’ll settle for a rifle through Claudia’s cast-offs, thanks!
